From what it looks like i cannot see a component connection on the back of my LCD but does have VGA. is it ok to use a VGA to component adapter to connect my xbox to the LCD?

No, you need to have a converter box. You want to go from component TO vga, not vga to component? Correct? I use this to hook my satellite dish up to my 24" monitor. Works great. I think this is what you are really looking for.

no its not. My LCD does not have component input from what i can see (mounted on the wall)

there is a cable that plugs into my xbox which is component (red blue green.) but obviously no where to plug it into. but what i do have on my tv is a spare VGA input. so i was wondering if i can use an adapter that converts the vga into a component then therefore play my 360

Yeah, i did that.
Just get the Xbox VGA Adapter and you can plug it straight into your monitor.

It replaces the component plugs with VGA and sound

ok thanks, so that doesn'r affect quality or anything?

Nope. Once you plug it in you can change the resolution to match your monitor from the screen options on the xbox dashboard.

It won't look perfect though, because most xbox games don't have anti-aliasing so it'll look kinda jaggy on your monitor

Here, don't buy the overpriced Xbox 360 VGA connector, buy this one from monoprice.com http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 .

Also, here is a optical audio cable to go from your Xbox 360 to your digital input on your computer http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 .

I have also found a good component to VGA converter, and a review on it, Enjoy!!

Yah, just get the HD VGA connector. It will actually look better than component.
ok thanks guys, i found component connection after all. was kinda hard to find as its on the wall. but found it and wasn't impressed so i have gone back to HDMI which i guess is ok. just got used to the good graphics of PC's
then went on 360 and they weren't as good haha.

thanks alot. +reps.

Just stick to HDMI. It's far better than component, and slightly better than VGA depending on your TV. On my TV, I honestly think VGA looks nicer, but HDMI is a lot sharper.

I see what you are trying to do now. My bad... not reading thoroughly!
