Oh, and instead of doing the mod directly on the processor, can I wrap the pins with thin wire in the socket instead?

Just the VID mod. I won't need the BSEL mod because the board I'm going to use it on only supports up to 1066FSB. Will this mod change the default vid of my cpu from 1.32v to 1.45v? The board doesn't have voltage adjustments in the bios. (ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA)
