1.2 vid here.

I am having a few issues getting it stable at 3.9ghz. I had it at 3.7 previously.

For me it doesn't matter in extreme overclocking. It's voltage needed to work at stock frequency.
For Q9550 E0 I saw 1.1875, 1.200, 1.250V
My E0 has 1.1875V

Reasonal limit for this CPU is 4000-4100MHz, higher frequencies need stronger bump in voltages.
Sometimes 0.1V bump is needed to jump from 4100 to 4200MHZ

PS. Stepping is much more important

grr...i just want to get 4.0 stable at 1.365 or under, work in progress, wednesday will be when i attemp some overclocking, just tinkering now, think my bios is acting a little weird...hmmm....oh and it is an EO
cant change my multiplier to 8.5 just stays at 8...also what does CPU N/2 mean, i don't think that was there with my other quad, right now its disabled
i am getting same cpu very soon , keep me posted cuz i will be in your shoes soon, and this is gonna also be my first attempt at overclocking
good luck

if properly cooled, does over clocking a cpu dramatically reduce the longevity of the chip?
cuz if so, i am going no higher then maybe 3.5-6
not enought to matter, unless you go overboard

heh
N/2 is additional 0.5
to your 8 multiplier

the N/2 enable that and you will see the 8.5 Multi instead of only 8. and you'll be running where you should be.

I also recently got the Q9650. and when I saw I had a VID of 1.2500 I was very worried, but honestly. as long as you have a E0 stepping. 4.0 Ghz is VERY VERY easy to hit on a Q9650, and decently easy and very doable on the Q9550. and I've seen many Q9550's that are C1's hit 4.0 ghz also.

these chips are just downright good chips. they are solid. I've been able to get my 1.2500 vid just as high as someone with a 1.2000 vid. i think they are all pretty similar in terms of these new Q95 9650's.

Under LN should be good for 1.9volt right?
