Vid???

I was using CoreTemp version I can't remember (I think one before the latest one) to test my VID and temps for awhile, and I checked my VID on my new Q9650, which showed 1.15VID.

But then, I downloaded the new 99.3 version, which corrected the TJMax from 105c to 100c, but my VID is now showing 1.2625

I have checked every discussion of the Yorkfields, and the max VID of Q9650 is 1.25VID.

Does anyone have any answers to this?

Look in your BIOS, if everything is stock, you should get your default voltage id.
Make sure you check the VID when the CPU is under load if you have speedstep on. Having that on and the CPU idling can make for some really low VID readings.

That's not always the case. My VID isn't 1.13v, that's what the auto CPU voltage sets it at.

I have never checked my VID under STOCK settings. C1E hasn't been enabled... ever. Does OC settings change VID of CPUs?
It's worth a shot. I had two different mobos with two different CPUs tell me the VID in the BIOS.

P35 DS3R with E4500
EP45 UD3P with Q8200

No, it doesn't.

VID doesn't change with an overclock. Only thing that I've heard of changing it is bringing up core temp with the CPU idle and C1E on.

But 1.2625 VID is impossible with 45nm CPUs. How can this be?
Honestly..does it overclock well? I wouldn't worry too much about the VID if it still overclocks well.

This member said his VID is 1.275

That sucks. I thought I got a winner, yet I crapped out! Spoke too soon I guess. The funny thing is I rechecked with CoreTemp 98.1 and it still gives me 1.15VID. I dunno...

This thing does OC well (4.14Ghz at 1.3v so far), but I can't seem to pass Blend test Prime95, only Small FFT for 4 hours and still counting.

I think it's my RAM but I will have to see...
