ok here are my choises
1-Ati Radeon x800
2-nvidia 6600gt
3-Ati Radeon 9800 pro or xt
4-Ati radeon x1300 ( i think its more expensive then the others and i would prefer only if its gonna give me a huge improvement over the others)

Right now im running a slow ass Northwood 1.8 at 2.3 but when i buy the video card i will also be upgrading to 1g pc3200 value ram and a p4 3.0e 800mhz fsb w/ht 1m of L2

only games i play are cs1.6 and condition zero have looked aat quite a few reviews and x800 or 6600gt are what im concidering

oh by the way its AGP not PCI-E

unfortunately i think there all grabage
i liek my 9800 pro
but its kind of old tech ya kno?
the x1300 i hear sucks big time
if u can
try to get either 6800 gs
or ati x850 gto2

those are uyour best bets for the price range i think
This is for AGP right? The 9800 series is only agp, and the x1300 series is only PCI-E.

But if you only play old games, you can just keep the card you have.........CS 1.6 ran on my MX420

What is your budget? Out of the four you showed us go with the AGP x800, they go for $100 before rebates on newegg.com.
x800 from ya list or as mentioned probably the 6800gs. a x800gto2 would be good.
6800gs and the x850gto2 are a bit outa my price range, got to school and work only part time on weekends
computer store i usually go to has evga 6600gt for $166 and sapphire 9800 pro for $158 the x800 I would try and pick up somewhere else on the net
prices are $$$Canadian
edit- i was thinking about keeping same card but would i get a lot worse performance with what i have now as opposed to upgrading to even say a 9600pro or xt
Well I would wait because all the cards are gonna drop in price the next month or two.

thats tru, u know oddly enough i seemed to get worse performance on HL1 mods when i went to the 9800 pro from MX440
odd isnt it?
started playing halflife 1 with 375 mhz cyrex, tnt2 ultra ran very well =)

Either way your old P4 is gonna bottleneck your GPU, same with the ram.

x1300 comes in agp see link
thanks for help though i think ill let it rip with this card a bit longer then maybe in a couple weeks after i get my new cpu and another stick of ram ill upgrade the video card if its still an issue as im not getting bad fps just in smoke i drop from about 80-100 to 20-35
