i got 4 g of crutial b tracer and vista shows 3.2gb, i read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605 and i dont understand, can someone sumirize it and help me fix this?

ms is using ruffly .8 of a gig.
due to memory adressing(memory numbers) 32bit is limited to how many it can give out before the memory numbers are all taken up.

Do like the article say's, upgrade to 64bit Vista in order to see/use all your memory.

it shows only 3.2gb but all 4gb are there, upgrade to vista 64 by buying it

If you got a retail package of Vista then you can order a copy of 64-bit Vista for $10.

All you really need is any Vista 64 bit disc. Use your key, reactivate and you're good to go.

Vista 32 bit OS can't take advantage of 4 gigs, that is why it's not showing 4 gigs. If you had bought the retail version of Win Vista Ultimate, it comes with both 32 and 64 bit OSs.

You could look into PAE, although I wouldnt suggest it. 3.2gb should be more then enough. Ive never ran over 2 unless doing something crazy.

As for downloading a 64 bit disc there are no places where you can get it legally as far as I know.
