First off when you search for a folder and then try to browse that forlder, it ISN'T opened in a new windows even if "open folders in new windows" is selected.

Secondly, when you go back to your search results after navigating to a folder, WINDOWS SEARCHES THE WHOLE COMPUTER ALL OVER AGAIN.

Third, Vista still hasn't fixed the broken file copy problem. When you copy or move files, if ONE file is corrupted or inaccessible, it breaks the whole operation!

Control panel: Where is the "add/remove" programs? Why couldn't they have just left it where it was?

Try moving this to the rant/rave section of OCN as this is just silly.

Add/remove programs is right there in Control Panel but it's called "programs and features" so learn how to actually use the OS before you shoot it down. Vista has alot of nice features, it's alot more then just eye candy so you might as well get used to it as you'll have to use it for the next five years.

Control Panel\\Programs and Features is the add/remove as far as the other things did you try and look up setting that would get it to do what you want?

well add/remove programs is under "Programs"

when i open folders from the search it does open them in a new window

who cares if it searches the comp again... my search results are basically instant.

so i would say the problem is not with the OS, it is with the user

Seems u get pissed at nothing..

So you want EVERY folder to open in a new window? ***z, i've never heard of that, just open two my computer windows its not that hard.

Maybe you should run a junk file scan then and get rid of all your corrupted files since you have so many its bugging you.

And its not too hard to spend a minute looking through the control panel for "programs and features" if you do it once you dont have to do it again.

Its a new OS, its a hellava lot better then XP so for these to be your biggest complaints thats good.

Haha. In my honest opinion, Vista is not complete garbage, but it was just not necessary. It does not differ enough from xp to really seem amazing. I think it was made too early and in too much of a rush.

Look just because you cannot use one of the easiest-to-use OS's in the universe doesn't make the OS bad. In this case, yeah Vista sucks IMHO (for now) but there are numerous OTHER reasons having nothing to do with this pathetic crap you speak of. You have been demoted to OS X. One more stunt like this, and we'll give you Windows 95.

thats because vista is a time filler between the current ms legacy, XP; and the next generation, vienna. MS promises perfection with Vienna; true seamless integration between Unix and .NET; finally no more mono to mess with; MS will make an OS based on a stable, perfect, non-resource hogging UNIX kernel

or so they say...

No I don't think they ever said that either.

I have ultimate ($11) on my sig rig for about 2 weeks and couldn't be more happy with it. The learning curve is not steep at all.
