I JUST reinstalled vista and decided to use the new 9.3 drivers. i finished reinstalling and then installed my gpu drivers and wanted to get aero back up an running. But my vista index score wont go above 1.0 yes some how i've got aero enabled

I've reinstalled going on 3 times now, and have tried anywhere from 9.1 to 9.3 (last set that worked was 9.2)

any help is appreciated.

You need to make Vista check your system again, as you see it's unrated.

Just click on the link "Windows Eperience Index", and start the system rating, and you should get some better ratings and aero should be availeble again.

You should get this, and then you just click the "Rate my computer" button.

If your problem is that Vista won't rate your computer than try to do this:

- Click Start, type the following path in the Start Search box,
and then press enter:

%SYSTEMROOT%\\Performance\\WinSat\\DataStore

- Delete all the .xml files in the folder.

- Click Start, type performance information and tools in the Start Search box,
and then click Performance Information and Tools in the Programs list.

- If the following information appears, click Refresh Now to update the
Windows Experience Index.

Your Windows Experience Index needs to be rated again.

Thats a driver issue... reinstall them and you should be fine. I have seen this on my mom's computer and that fixed it.

not a driver issue if it happens regardless of driver and on a FRESH INSTALL.
