Mos Def this year.. IIRC sometime in the next few months.. Not sure about thew gaming though

I'd reckon it will be released within the next 2-4 months, most likely right alongside the release of Windows 7. Either way, it will definitely be this year. As for performance gains, you'll probably see some, but nothing to write home about. Historically, the first service pack of any Microsoft OS produces the highest gains.

it should be soon, afaik the serivce pack hit RC status or something near RC status

SP2 is in RC (Release Candidate) now and MS has said it will be released in the Q2 of this year meaning no later than june but i think it will be around april time
