On my laptop (running windows xp home) I recently have run into a problem. Since about a week ago i've noticed that I have had the windows volume at max all the time when I didn't have to before. Now I can hardly hear music, games or anything. It isn't the speakers because it happens through some multimedia speakers I have.

Any one know what may be cuasing this volume drop or have a program to orverride and raise the volume above max windows settings.

I've searched google like crazy but alas nothing...

Open up your WMP, Windows Volume, and any other music software that you have, including MusicMatch and all that other stuff and turn up the volume. The same happened to me and it was MusicMatch that was overriding the other volume controls.

Same here lol, I had to install it for my Dell DJ to work (yes, a Dell DJ) and it just started playing random music so I lowered it then closed it and the volume was always down no matter how high I set it too lol. I eventually found the problem and raised it back up
