Well you could convert an old agp system to a decent HTPC build nice one HIS
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't this now be the fastest AGP card in existence? The 4670 is moderately superior to the 3850 which was previously the most powerful AGP card, no?

Not to mention the low power consumption/requirement are a nice + for people stuck on AGP.
Will probably cost an arm and a leg tho. edit: source article says 90 euros, not bad at all if that's true.

That's what I would like to know too.

Is the 4670 faster than the 3850.

Wow, that's pretty cool.

I love the look of those coolers.
Looks pretty good for an older AGP system. Im surprised they haven't let AGP die yet.

In some cases, yes. It also uses less power and isn't quite as big.

I think this is good, so long as it's cheaper than the 3850

There are other AGP 4650 cards in existance...

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...50+agp&x=0&y=0

for under $100cdn too!

don't see why anyone would buy the 512mb one when you can get a gig for $7 more

oops we're talking about 4670...

i shouldn't post when sleepy

4670 vs 3870 and 3850 for those interested.

Wouldnt an AGP systems CPU possibly bottleneck these more powerful agp cards?
prob not if the cpu is at 3ghz
would it be possible to crossfire pci x and agp?

no, MultiGPU is restricted to PCIe only.

why 1GB RAM?

I don't think "Enthusiast gamers" would be using a motherboard, CPU and RAM old enough to have an AGP graphics card.

Actually, as of the 8.9 Catalyst, it is not. In fact it is a good portion slower across nearly all benchmarks (Sans Crysis and FC2) and this was the 1GB HD4670 vs a 256mb HD3850. The HD4670 had been released for a while so I doubt it was a failure in the driver department, the card is simply slower. Not to mention an HD3850 in an enthusiast/modders hands can achieve a massive overclock with a simple pencil vmod and keep up with a stock HD3870, and even surpass it.

Proof is in my sig here.

That anandtech review is BS. In 7/9 of my tests the HD4670 falls short of the HD3850. I spent months on these tests with these cards, tweaking them to perfection and keeping the variables incredibly controlled.

Not really, I'm running Street Fighter 4 PC on my ancient Pentium4 2.6c w/3850AGP just fine.

I don't know why they bothered releasing something marginally better than the 3850AGP. They should at least come out with a 4850AGP.

Its been said countless times, but there are AGP systems that can use a Quad.
