Mushkin's definitely making a comeback - their new eVCI cooler looks awesome. I'm probably going to pick up their 2x2GB kit of DDR2 1000 Redline Ascent RAM sometime after the holidays.

A comeback? They've always used the best ram modules on the market. Their whole ddr2 line up uses d9's, in fact I bet you their cheapest 800 kit has the same modules as redlines, just different coolers and colors.

They still managed to fall out of favor somehow (hell if I know why, I've always liked their stuff), but I'm hoping to see them make a big comeback. They're a hell of a lot better than Corsair, that's for sure (no idea how they got so popular).

They have marketing going and I don't think I've ever seen a Mushkin banner or anything on a website. I don't think they've fallen out of favor, just they haven't seem to have grown anywhere because of other brand's marketing.

Entirely possible, but I don't see them recommended by too many people either.

i was a HUGE ballistix fan when both my ddr-1000 kits ran at ~510mhz 4-4-4-12, undervolted (4x1GB)
(still have them but they didn't play well with my P5E so they're sitting in their package for now)

but i've heard a lot of horror stories of the newer kits.

i bought my g.skill kit and they run 1066 fine, but i decided to upgrade to one of their 1100 kits with the large heatsinks and they were DOA.........so my next ram purchase (ddr3) is up in the air as far as a brand

I've never heard Mushkin recommended, but its good to see they are providing a lot of options. More competition is good as well for us consumers.

Oh, they're hurting and pushing back production alright.
