Nvidia is going to release the MCP82 XE chipset later this month where the official marketing name will be nForce 980a SLI. MCP82 XE is essentially the same as the MCP72 XE except that it is qualified to work with the latest AMD3 processors on both DDR2 and DDR3 boards.

MCP82 supports PCIe 2.0, HT 3.0, Tri/Quad SLI, Hybrid SLI, 12 USB 2.0, 6 SATA 3Gb/s ports, Gigabit Ethernet, HD Audio etc. MCP82XE is rated at 20W TDP in mGPU mode, 22W TDP in Hybrid mode and 9W TDP in idle mode.

ive been waiting for this. release date?
I like nvidia's chipsets since I've had nice results with my nforce 570. It would be a shame they just dissapeared now that they don't hold SLI for themselves anymore
