Just put on my XSPC Razor GTX480.
Core temps are great im very impressed and ive just had it running 900 core in MSI K stable and still have more voltage available in MSI AB.

Thing is im a touchy feely when it comes to temps in my case.
I had my fingers on the back of the VMR area and it was pretty warm.

Can somebody who has had a blocked GTX480 for a while, tell me how warm the backside of their VRm area gets?

EDIT:

Infact can somebody with GTX480 with stock cooling take temps of the back of the VRM when under load etc.

Thanks.

still want to know temps other people get on the reverse of VRM area

The cards don't have a VRM temp sensor so people would need their own temp sensors. Some reviewers have access to that tech but most individuals do not. The finger touch technique is pretty much the norm.

um... AIDA64 Extreme Edition will tell you the temps of the VRMs on a 480...

or alteast it says it does... i mean i run it on my system and it does...

Also... with Water cooling with a full block...

i don't think you will be able to kill the VRMs

the 480s VRMs are known to be quite sturdy and reliable...

Unlike it replacement (the 570)

I will not use AIDA64(Everest) as it is causes in game fps stuttering.

Also i thought the 580 was the replacement for the 480? i mean,,a 480 will put the smack down on a 570 in 3DM11 at least, and a 570 has less VRAM.
IMO a 480>570 performance wise and the 480 will also live longer than 14 days:baaasmile

a 480 vs a 570 at stock and at avg max clocks... perform about the same...

but the VRMs are shocking and don't last...
