Wanna upgrade the bonnie

488 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  MADMAX22
So I was thinking of getting a new rad to replace my bonnie heater core that I have had for like the past 4 years. I dont want anything larger then a 3x120 rad.

What out there is better then the heater core? I havnt been following any recent developements if there are any.

Thanks for the input.

i think the hardwarelabs( they taken over dangerden) black ice gtx 360 if you can allow delta's or san ace's pushing cause the 20fpi.
Or if you want quit performance i guess the TFC 360/420 x-changer
or if you want the cheaper ones but less performance : Swiftech MCR320 QP,Thermochill PA120.3 and the XSPC RX360 rad this rad is between the expensiveness and cheapness of the rad above^^^

linky for the GTX 360 rad

TFC X-Changer 360/420

linky for MCR320 QP

linky for PA120.3 perfomance pc's had no description so click herre but if you want that one click here this is and dual hyperlink

Linky for the RX360

Well Im looking at the gtx360 but wanted to give this one bumb to see if there was any more input as to what I should consider.

Or if the heater core is still a good viable contender in the rad world.

Thanks for the input also Runeazn.
my TFC Xchanger 360/420 rad does very well. i would recommend it. especially with 1/2" ID tubing it works really well.

The heatercore is still a good choice. If you need more cooling capacity, just get another one.
Hey Max. When Martin tested the Bonnie it was about like a Swifty 320 if you used higher cfm fans on it. So to do any better you'll really need a dual row rad like the GTX,TFC,RX..etc

If your using 120x38mm fans over 1400 or so RPM the GTX is a little ahead, the higher the cfm the better they do.

If your using lower then say a 68cfm Pana the TFC or XSPC/RX would be a little better.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I ended up getting the tfc xchanger 360, got it at danger den with 20% off.

Must say it is a nice addition. I like the offset of the frame, kind of acts like a little shroud if you dont have a bigger one to put on.

I have two silverstones on it right now and a generic POS fan. Its performing very well so far. With a fresh reseat (still need to cure the as5) I have about the same idle temps which is to be expected (maybe 1c difference) but the load temps so far are about on average 4-5c lower.

Now as long as it doesnt blow up all over my system (knocks on wood....) Ill be happy.
