Well I've started to overclock my Galaxy GTX260 Core216. The stock clocks are 576/1242/999 and heres the results from the overclocks I have attempted.

I'm using EVGA Precision for overclocking and ATi Tool for testing stability.

First I tried 733/1554/1045 (I think that was the shader) and I started getting artifacts after 2mins in ATi Tool.

Then I tried 711/1508/1045 and I passed 10mins of ATi Tool with no artifacts, so I decided to run 3dmark06. On the first test half way through my comp froze up and rebooted, so I guess it was unstable.

I then tried 701/1496/1045, ran 3dmark06 and passed with a huge score increase of 17790 from 16220 (stock clocks).

So I then tried 706/1496/1045, ran 3dmark06 and passed with a score of 17841.

I want this to be a overclock that I use daily so I don't wanna do any benching runs with my CPU etc
.

I want to break 18k! Whats the best thing I should do? Any tips on how I can improve my overclock on my GTX260/216 while staying stable?

Thanks

well set ram to tighter cas latency and yeah like any bump in clock speed on the cpu, probably like 100mhz.

Haha what a pain. Well I want to keep the clock legit, in meaning daily use, I'm not sure an extra 45mhz on the CPU will make a difference stability wise from what I was using?

If you can't get anymore outa the card you'll have to clock your cpu higher to get anymore gains.

Edit:I need to update my score.I'm stuck at 19905!

I'm in a similar predicament, I score 17,778 with my E8400 @ 4.1GHz, 720/1440/1107 clocks on my 55nm EVGA GTX260 216. I'd like to hit 18k, but I'm also on vista SP1, you probably have a better chance on XP than me, lol.

Yeah supposedly 10% more. I had sp3 a while back on my other pc before w7 beta, and it did feel faster.

in ur scrn shot you have avg running, disable that. download and run a full/trial of tune up utilities 08/09 and optimize xp performance. then google xp performance tweak guide. theirs tons of tools you can probably disable like fax. hopefully after all of this it will all add up just a little.
