OK, here's what I would like to do.

After turning down a 9600XT because of not enough difference from my current card, I have stumbled upon the high-level FX series cards in my never-ending search for the best under $200 GPU.

The current cards I am comparing are:

Chaintec 5700Ultra (witch looks like an overclocking beast)
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...145-081&depa=1

XFX 5700Ultra (witch is slightly cheaper and 50mhz faster on ram, but might need better hsf for serious oc'ing)
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...150-066&depa=1

ELSA 5900XT (never heard of this brand before, any comments?)
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...119-138&depa=1

And, if I suddenly strike it rich, this beast:

Reps for all who helped, Thanks!

well, of all those the 5900xt is the best deal, and the 5950 isnt worth it because for the same money u can get a 6800gt which is twice as good. depends how much u wanna spend. i think that a 9800pro or a 6600gt is your best bet for less then 200, and anything after that best is 6800

You could get a 6800GT for the cost of that 5950 Ultra. I'd say the 5900XTs just because you can softmod them to 5950Ultras...I think so... I think my friend did that.

OK, I guess the main question now is the 256-bit of the 5900XT, or the extreme clocks of the 5700Ultra's.

5900xt, because its supposed to be super OCable and better performance then the 5700. clocks dont matter cuz their different cores. ask shermstix about his...his was fast enough to beat most 5950ultras...
