Warcraft III on Vista

I've just tried installing Warcraft III on my current PC, (finished, have to update PC info), im using Windows Vista Home Premium. After i put the CD key, my name, etc, in, and pressed "install", the install bar went along fine, but the it just froze, and wouldnt go on. So pretty much, it stopped installing, and my computer locked up. The only way i could unfreeze my computer would be to eject the disc from my drive. (Wouldn't let me cancel the installation, either, until the disc was out). Is there a patch, update, something, that i can download to make Vista compatible with this game?

I was looking at Starcraft for PC and it says its Vista compatible so why wouldn't this be... Have you tried it again?
If you still have UAC enabled, try right clicking the installer and selecting "Run as Administrator"
Yeah, i've tried all of that, running as administrator, running it in compatibilty mode for Windows XP. It always freezes during the install

Interesting I just recently installed this game on Vista Ultimate x64. Worked great. Is the disc damaged?

It's obvious you are doing something wrong on you're side. I installed Warcraft III and Frozen Throne and played them without any problems.

Yup, I've always installed Starcraft and Warcraft III under that OS with no problems.

I had an error in installation, but running under admin fixed it... might want to try that.
Don't forget that the newer WC3 CD's are not install compatible... Sure it will install in some stupid C:\\Games\\WC3 folder but no on any other places like D:\\Games\\Warcraft III where you really want to install it... and when you install. ehm.. TRY to install TFT it tells you to isntall RoC that you installed 30 seconds ago...
wow, this is a terrible tragedy, i shudder to think what would happen if i was kept from DOTA.
On to the point just try to install again, might have just been an odd one time thing. Doesn't hurt to try
it's probably a bad cd or bad rom.

just download a warcraft 3 installer and use your key.

All the newer releases are the same so yeah the only thing that actually fixes that is to download an old C image and then use your own CD key.
