I have a Samsung 120Hz 40" 1080P lcd. I sit about 5-6 feet away. Now If I watch 720P movies on it versus 1080P is there a huge difference?

It's a bit blurrier compared to full 1080p; I haven't tried it though - whenever I watch HD on my TV..... it's most certainly 1080p

I can tell a difference between 720p and 1080p on my 24" monitor and 37" TV.

You are stretching the picture regardless of how far you sit away from the screen (stretching/upscaling reduces quality of course)...weather you can tolerate it or not is based upon your own preference...im sure your vision can play a part in it as well

Load up some 720P movies and stretch them with the correct aspect ratio to see if it suits your fantasy
