Hi guys
I'm running the rig listed in my sig
I want to go water on the CPU.

I did look at the corsair H100, but the radiator will only fit in my case if I'm not running SLI
Which obviously is no good for me.

Can anyone recommend me a liquid CPU closed system cooler that will fit in my Antec 1200V3 case while I'm running SLi ?

I just cannot lose that upper PCIe slot though as I need it free to take the cards.

Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance

John

Well you COULD get an H80 or H100 but you would get much better performance out of an XSPC kit.

An h100 won't fit my case as I'm running sli I don't think
From what I've seen it empedes the upper PCIe. Slot and I need them all free.

I'll have a look at this XSPC kit, I've not seen them before

Had a look at the XSPC, it does look good, but its overkill really.

I'm gonna have trouble getting the rad into my case with SLI running and I only want water for my CPU, not the GPU's.

I think it's gonna have to be a H80 or similar

I'm only going to do the CPU though
Not the GPU's
The XSPC seems to be tailored to suit doing a whole system and I just won't ever do the GPU's really

After doing some homework I decided to go with the Antec Kúhler H2O 920 CPU Watercooler

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1590/1/

I spoke to the Antec support guys today, they replied even on a Sunday, within the hour !

The Antec 920 will fit straight into my Antec 1200V3 case with 101% compatibility.
It's made by them, to go in their own cases, the peg literally fits the hole sorta thing.

Basically, I remove one of the back exhaust fans and it fits into the same footprint, I can still use the upper PCIe slot as well and therefore run SLi.

I just couldn't do that with the corsair kit or any of the other 120mm rads I looked at, as the hose inlets are all slightly raised, cutting off the upper PCIe slot, stopping me running SLi.

Sure, I could have bodged them in, or fitted them with cable ties or half the screws, but I'd rather it fitted properly and I also wanted to be able to run SLi , not just one GPU.

The Antec one is the only radiator that fits properly into an Antec case.
The performance is also as good if not better than most of them I've seen.

The only two things that put me off about it was firstly, its reportedly a little loud in turbo mode and secondly, it has rubber hoses, that will allow for a very tiny amount of evaporation over an extended period of years.
But it's got a 3 year warranty, and I can pick up x2 silent replacment fans if needs be, to make it a lot quieter if needs be.

Wish me luck, I'll report back with how the Antec 920 cooler fits in the Antec 1200V3 case when it arrives, hopefully Tuesday night.

please report to us what your gains were..
especially when using an air-cooled system to a All-in-One (AIO).

just a note: all our water-cooled systems are closed systems. the
corasir, antec and others are "sealed" verus closed..

The Kuhler 920 is still taller then a 120mm fan so it wont fit onto one of the back fans spots perfectly. You can do what I did with the Corsair h70 though and attach it to the bottom bolts of the top 120mm.

As you can see it leaves plenty of room for using multiple GPUs. The bolts which come with it are the right size and length to connect through the back of the case and the two is enough to hold it perfectly rigid.

i did about 3 months of research ont he whole closed loop water cooling thing and ended up going for a nh-d14, especially if a single rad system is the best you can do, the d14 is cheaper, quiter and there's no risk of leaking pup not working etc etc uneless your going for a reall good overclock i wouldnt bother with custom water loop as theres all the maintenence

I fitted my Antec H2o 920 in an Antec 1200V3 on the footprint of the TOP rear exhaust fan with the hoses at the bottom, it overhung the lower fan by about 10mm but still fitted in lovely in the exact footprint of the fan on all the four fan screws, with both fans working fine.

For an Antec 1200v3 I'd def recommend the Antec 920 h2o CPU cooler

Incidentally you've fitted that radiator upside down, the feed / return should be at the base of the radiator ?
