Weird low FPS compared to other specs that are the same

Hey guys. I recently built a PC consisting of an i7 4220k @ 3.7 ghz and a gtx 770 and 8 gb ram. What is weird is that when i am for example playing Far Cry 3, i see that other people get an average around 60 fps, while i with my system only get around 45-50. Why is it that my system is performing less good than their system, when the only difference is really 0.2 ghz?.. I even set my SSAO setting to SSAO, and my alpha to coverage at off, and i still get 40-50 fps????

I have updated the latest drivers, and it does still not make any improvement..

Hello,

I think there is a lot of factors at play when it comes to frame rate. Even the software you are using to see it. When your using Fraps or anything like that, it is showing you the frame rate of video. I hit about 60 frames a sec in farcry 3, but I'm overclocked. I have no energy saving feature on, I make sure my bios knows I'm running a 3rd gen card.I've tried using every feature of the board like Virtual MVP and all that.

I really think it just boils down to how much you tinker with it and how well your motherboard and graphics card get along. Maybe updating your chipset on your mobo might help to. Have you done any overclocking? MSI overdrive or anything?

No i am not using any overclocking besides a CPU OC with OC genie (no comments on it, too lazy atm

), but nothing else.
- will disabling energy saving feature in BIOS give me more FPS?

Try running stock?
No, it really shouldn't because that kind of thing only kicks in if the computer is inactive, unless its epu(advanced green emissions crap) or something. Even if it did, I don't you could notice the difference .Updating the chipsset or looking at things that are running although could be having a huge impact on your performance. Try maybe looking at your task manager and see if anything is sucking a lot of memory or cpu. You should have enough cores to take care of anything running thow.

How do i update the chipset?
You would have no know what type ( model version) of the board you have , then go to msi http://us.msi.com search for your board and they should have a updated chipset , in the driver section .

But updating the drivers should have an impact with like 20 fps.. What the **** is wrong man... I really cant understand
And why is it that when i turn off my OC genie, it does not go back to stock settings? Do i need to do a factory reset?
