so im having this weird problem
i installed windows XP
and the drivers that came with the mobo

and after some bios tweaks
the /windows/somthing/system folder was deleted or corrupted
and its happened 5 times
a few times everything got up and running
but then windows crashed
both file systems fat32 and ntfs too

i know i need more ram
i have 1 stick of 128 pc2700
for my 2.8 800fsb P4 478

and i know i need a new power supply
i only have a 300 watt one

WHat could be causing this>???

I would suggest running Memtest86 to see if your RAM is the problem. You'll need to be running a divider for that RAM to run, and like you said, having 128 MB with XP is definitely cause for an upgrade. Anyway, check to make sure your RAM speed and timings are appropriate as both can cause data corruption.
