Well I bought a pair of Grado's.....

I jumped the gun and bought a pair of Grado SR80i's and they are MARVELOUS. I think when I put them on they unlock an extra pair of ears within my inner ear's inner ears lol. I have never heard quality of this caliber and I plan on modifying them soon. I'll probably change the wiring on them, get smaller mesh for the sides AND change the ear foawm... probably to the GS1000i size ear foam. I have seen people get wood cups for them but right now I dont have the money for that(but I WILL change the cups eventually).

Grados are AMAZING for Rock and its subgenres. Nice purchase.

DON'T get smaller mesh! Get larger mesh. Put you hands over the vents and see how bad they sound. They rely on the air flow to sound good. There is a whole thread on Head-Fi about modding grado's:http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/pos...o-mods-119314/
Many remove the button and find it sounds better.

I hated mine. They caused me physical pain in my ears. As much as I wanted to like them I couldn't so I sold them off. I wish it would have worked out because I could tell there was some great potential there.

From what i hear from all the audio heads on OCN grados are the cream of the crop..

did you have the sr-80's or the sr-80i's? the difference here being the new ear pads to fix the comfort issues (along with other internal upgrades). sorry to hear you sold them off, i find grados to be some of the best headphones on the planet.

to the person asking about the sr-80i price. they can be had for $100 with free shipping on amazon.

i just ordered a set to use with my pc yesterday. i am pretty excited to start using them.
