I have a Western Digital Ext HDD that has both USB 2.0 and Firewire 400/800. However, Im not sure what type of Firewire (400 or 800) my Dell XPS One has. Is there a way to look on my PC and see?

Also, whats faster? USB 2.0 or Firewire 400?

Thanks! : )

Firewire 400.

Also, there's only ever been ONE non-Apple motherboard with Firewire 800 (and it's an nForce 590i), so it's 99% likely you just have Firewire 400.

Edit; if it's a 6-pin port, it's Firewire 400. If it's 9-pin, it's Firewire 800.

Actually.. USB 2.0 is rated at 480mbps, FW400 is rated at 400mbps, and FW800 is rated at 800mbps
