Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, and Seasonic are going to be the big 3.

OCZ, Zalman, and BFG's newest PSU's are good, but I would never buy one of their older units (especially the gamexstream line from OCZ).

Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Silverstone are the top notch brands.
They are not overly expensive.

You can get by with OCZ, Xigmatek, Seasonic, Antec(also an excellent company).
corsair, silverstone, pc power and cooling, OCZ's new ones, tagan

not sure about BFG, i just know that their old ones suck.
Coolermaster real power pro 850 has been kicking ass for me
I'm liking CORSAIR.

It was cheaper than the $250 PSU I almost bought, but I was recommended this one for my build and haven't regreted it. Amazing PSU for the price.

Gotta give a second on the ThermalTake, their ToughPower line is indeed awesome - I know, I have one. Tagan are also good (I've had those too), but they don't seem to fare well in the US, probably due to the lower voltages over there. They are solid though - I had a 480W unit that was running a load meant for a 600W PSU

If you want to take the time to research PSUs, checkout the reviews on HardOCP and jonnyGuru, they do some very stiff PSU testing.

Their new ones rock.

Tagan is OEM Topower - they can be good, but the OEM has a history of flakiness.

keep in mind, you often get what you pay for.

While it may be $100, if your computer were a ferrari, would you use the lowest octane gas to power it?

I'm a believer in Corsair.
