What cable do u need for coax??

ive looked at the coax input on my 5500 logitech speakers and it looks like a regular video/audio cable that you connect to your tv for xbox or whatever. and the input on my foxtel box has the same type of connector. Would one of these regular cables work for coax type of functionality?

Here is an excellent example of the type of coaxial cable that you can use:

Edit: This type of cable is used for the following applications:
  • S/PDIF
  • Digital Coax
  • Subwoofer
  • Composite Video

It should be coax for best results, but suprisingly must have an RCA connector, which aerial cables don't use.
You can get away with analog sound RCA cables, if you're in a tight spot.

I forgot to mention that the cable I posted is for the following applications:
  • S/PDIF
  • Digital Coax
  • Subwoofer
  • Composite Video
It's not a special cable that's designed for all of these applications. It's just that this is what this type of cable can be used for.

Make sure it's the thick cable that you will be using for digital sound and not the thin cable that is used for red/white on RCA cables. It should be like the thicker yellow cable.

dont go into the store asking for coax! youll get regular old stuff that you plug into the wall. make sure you ask for a coaxial audio cable(i use subwoofer cable actually)

All you have to do is ask for a digital audio cable. Mention that it's a coaxial cable.

Actually, you have much more than a clue about coax now.

must say coaxial audio. they will most likely give you fiber optic if you say digital audio because its more common

Yes, that's why I said "Mention that it's a coaxial cable."

hmm im wondering why he chose coax instead of fiber? i favor fiber in short runs but it can get expensive when your going for longer runs
