I want to get a graphics card that will last about a year. I was thinking of getting a 7600gt but now i'm not sure.

No it doesn't.

Get the x1900GT. It competes the with the 7900GT, and its alot cheaper ($150 on newegg).

The x1900GT ~ x1950PRO. The x1950PRO was not needed IMO.

He is not asking for a card that will play all the games that are going to come out within the next year at max settings. He wants a card that will still be able to play all of the games that are going to come out at decent settings. So a 7900GS will do that amicably. When considering things that will be purchased in Australia you cannot simply convert the amount to be spent into USD and find a comparable card. Most computer hardware is considerably more expensive in Australia.
