ok so, i just bought a new laptop. i generally used either malwarebytes on my desktop if anything at all and never had to do any maintenance.

the thing is, i want to rig my laptop to be able to scan other peoples hard drives for viruses and malware. so, i was thinking i'd throw a few different programs on there so i can use any of them that i want at any given time, but the real question is, what programs do i need? and what programs do i want?

also looking for suggestions as to how i can power a hard drive aside from just buying an external enclosure and plugging it into the wall if anyone has ideas.

More than one anti virus program on a pc is not a good idea.

Other than an external enclosure you could use a spare power supply,or some other 12 volt dc power source adapted to a sata or molex power connector.A train set transformer would supply the power needed......choo-choo.
