what digital multimeter to get?

596 Views 14 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  PizzaMan
I wanna play with the voltages on my vmodded (by OCN's own CL3PO no less) 9800GTs, but have no idea what multimeter to get. Fluke was mentioned, but the only models by them I've found are like $200+...

Any suggestions? Please link to a specific model if you can

cheap
cheaper

Level of accuracy is mostly what costs the big $$.. most all have the same basic functions beyond that though..

*think I paid ~120 for my Fluke

...forgot to ask if you saved any brownies

The cheap one is a bit..pricey, they cheaper one seems...too cheap?

Would this one work? Might be able to just pick it up tommorow.

The "cheap" one is what most people need, and it's really all you need for VModding. If however you need it for monitoring voltages, you might want to splurge some more cash than just 20 bucks

I have a Sperry DM-210A I got from Home Depot for $15-20 or so
So the radioshack one is ok? Is 15-range ok? What does the range mean anyways?
I think it has to do with the voltage/ohms it can measure. 15 range should be fine. Mine is only 11 but it measures Vgpu load and ohm resistance pretty well.
You might want to consider getting a multimeter with auto range instead of manual.

It's fairly easy to set the ones with multiple ranges.
