Hey guys this is my first post and I need a little help!

I've got a E6750 @ 2.66Ghz and an 8800gs. I want to upgrade so I can play BFBC 2 a little bit smoother. I want to upgrade the graphics card, what card should I get so that I don't bottleneck the CPU but still have a good looking game. Any responses will be appreciated!

P.S I've been looking at the 9800gtx as well as the GTX260, would those be good upgrades?

get the 260 before the 9800 gtx

the 9800 is basically a 8800 gtx, the 260 is much faster

What wattage is your psu? That is going to really limit you. Does your psu have a 6 or 8 pin connector?

oops, sorry for not giving that much information

My PSU is a 550W Corsair. I know it's got a 6 pin for the 8800gs. I have a converter for 2 4pins to make a 6pin, would that work as my 2nd 6pin?

you only need one 6 pin (unless the 260 is more power hungry than a 8800 gts or 5770)

From the pictures on newegg the GTX260's look like they need 2 6pins

On newegg I coudn't find a GTX260 that had only 1 6pin

A 5830 or 5850 falls in your price range and will run circles around a gtx 260

I probably should be more open to ATI instead of being such a fanboy for Nvidia. That looks like a great card, when I get home I'll just make sure I can get 2 6pins for it. Is there anything I should know about ATI like drivers and such?

I have personally had no problems with 10.6, but many have

I'd use 10.5 just to be safe if I was you.

np, you really need to go to user control panel and then on the left "add system" and put your specs in
