Hi, i have just under £40 (GBP) to spend on a graffix card, ive selected 2 that look good, if you could give me a few tips on each that would be great.

I think im right in saying that the 9550 can be flashed?

This is the 9550

And this is the 5200

Many thanks for your help

Hey, not positive, but I believe you can take the 9550 as far as a 9600pro (or maybe it was 9700, which has eight pipes, as apposed to the 4 on the 9600 series) by flashing the bios. Please someone correct me if I am wrong as I am new to these forums. The 5200 would only be good if you got it for VERY cheap, or you don't have AGP and are having trouble finding a descent PCI board. Just so you know, the 9550 of any configuration, should smoke the 5200 in every benchmark. If flashed to 9600, it would slaughter the 5200 even more. Now if it's flashed to the 9700, double the pipes means alot more bandwidth and even further 5200 ass-kicking takes place. So I'm not sure what GPU the 9550 flashes to, but I do know it can be done to get ALOT more performance from that card. So either way, ya, the 9550 is much better.

I would get the 9550 because yes you can get it up to a 9600pro.

The 9550 definitely.
It competes against the GeForce 5500.
Check this link where it says "What we want to find out today is how the new ATI Radeon 9550 compares against nVidia's FX 5500 and FX 5700LE GPUs".
