Great suggestion, but its a 2U box and its stuffed. We're going to be decreasing it's population very soon, so we're just trying to make it until then.

Just another update in the continuing saga of my users trying to kill my terminal server...

Don't you just love users.....

I remember one of my NT4 TS's died due to a memory overload. It had 4Gb of RAM and over a 12 hour period, the memory usage slowly went up and up until it the server hung for about 30 seconds
..... and then BSOD!!!!

I think it had 40 users on it at the time running old 16bit apps that had a lot of memory leaks!!!

My support team were betting on how long it would take to die....

Almost all our servers are DL360 G3s from Compaq... erm, I mean HP.

We have two servers using iSCSI to get to our NetApp Storage Area Network (SAN). A Microsoft Exchange server and a Microsoft SQL server hosting our ERP.

We run, lets see, 9 servers I think.

1) Exchange
2) OWA
3) SQL
4) Domain controller / backup server (BEX)
5) Terminal Server
6) monitoring server (runs SolarWinds Orion; which I highly recommend)
7) Help desk / IT storage server / intranet via Sharepoint Service 3.0
8) Certificate Authority server
9) Microsoft ISA server for proxying / monitoring our users web surfing

Well the reason you wont just find 1 solid page of reading is because you need to look for specifics. What do you need the server for? the first question you need to answer, once you get that then you find what server will do this task, and so on, once you find what you need read up on that. For example for a web server Windows Server 2003 Web Edition
