ok well i'd like to get a 6600GT, but how does a dual 6600 in a single card sli do against a 6600GT?

here it is...

looks good.

EDIT: WOAH it has 256 bit interface and ddr3 so its basically 2 6600gt's right?

how does this compare to the 6800 series?

That looks.. pricey. You can get 2 XFX 6600GTs for about $270, and Can get a 6800 GT (about the same performance) for probably a little bit less. That seems like it would run hot, and suck up more power than a single 6800GT.

Yeah, definently. A 6800GT will most likely give you better performance, cost less, and when you feel the need to upgrade again, just pop another one in there.

2 6600's combined or sli is faster than a single 6800gt. I have 2 6600GT's that bench within 10% of my 7800GT stock on identical base setup. The thing is you have to look ahead in terms of upgrading. 6600GT's or the dual core 6600's won't give you long term upgrade. Thats why I went to a 7800Gt and moved my 6600GT/SLi to my second rig. I am planning to have my 2nd 7800GT this week.
