I just purchased a sharkoon fireglider mouse and that has a 3600dpi, I also has a Raser Lachesis which had a higher DPI. The thing is I have found I prefer to play at a much lower DPI even on FPS games. On some FPS games I play between 800-1000 DPi. Who plays at really high DPI and why and who plays really low DPI and why?

I snipe at low DPI for accuracy

Strategy games is usually 1500 for me.

There is no tips to give really, It's what settings your comfortable and play best with that matter.

Don't run with 4k+ unless youre running eyefinity

Myself, Razer Mamba, 800 Sniping, 2k General use, 4k in BC2 for the Bradley, and Tanks (damn slow turning gets fixed with higher DPI

)

High DPI (3k+) is typically not used for general use, its more of a gimmick than anything, my Mamba has a 5.6k tops DPI, and I've rarely ever gone that high, its just a race to see who can pull the highest DPI rating really...

edit: @Mootsfox: Yay I'm not the only one that up's the DPI for BC2 vehicles!

200/800/1000/1250/3200 are the settings on my G9. 800 is for sniping, 1000 for desktop, 1250 for gaming, 3200 for in vehicle in BC2/BF2.

2000dpi normal usage, so used to it now, if i use diff mouse its soo slow lol.

gaming is 200dpi too sensivity changed in game settings, (mostly watever dafault it)

I play at the 800DPI my mouse runs at. If it's too fast I just slow it down in the game menu, if it's too slow I speed it up the same way.

I use 800 with my mx518. 1800 is way too speedy, in games must put sensitivity to 0.1 out of 10 or someting and it's still too fast. So 800 is good.

I have a Razer Mamba and I use 5600 mostly for everything and adjust the sensitivity in games. Although for Mass Effect 2, probably drop it down to 2000 and sniping also in TF2. Also Chronicles of Riddick has some crazy sensitivity settings so I drop it down to 1000.

Depends how you play and what size mouse pad you have

I have one of those cloth "XL" pads from Staples...looking to upgrade to a cloth Steel Series soon.
