What games can the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT MAX out? The one that's found in the old Macbook Pros. I know it can MAX out Mass Effect, but what about COD5, Dawn of War II, and Red Alert 3?

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory

Pretty sure it can't max out any of them, may be at like insanely res's but thats it. I think the most it can probably max out are games from the source engine.
I'm basing this off of my 8600gts performance.
Oh yeah and I was able to max out COD4 as well. Has there been a change in technical requirements in COD5?

not a whole lot I think, it looks like it was just a re-skin/WWII mod.

you should be able to play it fine.

Skins can kill performance, if you take a texture from CoD4 and make it larger and add more detail, you will obviously have less performance.

But the 8600M should play CoD4/Source Engine/CoD5 on high at 1440x900. Simply put, its a powerful mobile GPU, but not THAT powerful

uhm ive had a 8600GTS which isnt that much better and it would max
the entire orange box
all doom 3 engine games
far cry
CS:S
BF2/2142
UT3 is pushing it you MAY be able to.
max out mass effect?what resolution you're on?

edit:cod WAW seems to be a bit different from cod4 seeing as how 48xx series fall behind when they used to dominate at cod4.
counter strike should run great

also command and conquer 3.

What res and what frame rates ?

I would have problems maxing cod4 on my pc at 1680x1050 on a overclocked 8800gts 512.

This site says the 8600m gt is similar to the desktop 7600gt and 7900gs.

well since 7900GS>7600GT, thats kind of confusing. 7900GS is more like a 8600GTS.

" the performance is between the 7600 GT and 7900 GS video card" that what it said in the link I posted.

I think It will play most games, but you will have to cut back on eyecandy on the newer(last 2 years) games.
