thank you.

also my friend ran crysis 2 at minimum setting's and res (800X600) with a Phenom II 955 and intergrated graphics. (HD4250).

my question is can this macbook run crysis 2 at 1280X800 at lowest settings at an acceptable frame rate?

Judging from the statistics, it ought to run Crysis at medium settings with acceptable frame rates. I don't think Crysis uses more than 2 threads, so your C2D shouldn't bottleneck it.

Remember that CPU-throttling on laptops kicks in with a vengeance when they aren't plugged in to a power source. You'll get better performance when you're on AC.

My take on this is just an opinion though. I'd recommend getting a good wide variety of input from different sources to make sure. Happy gaming.

^This is pretty much as good as you need of a source. I don't know how it will act in windows but I suspect part of the "better" battery life that a mac gets is from very strict throttling settings on battery so it will definitely work best on AC. Then again I can't honestly think of doing more than an 1hour without AC.

Because of the throttling and the high Whr battery combined with lower power using parts.

About half the battery life? You may or may not notice a difference in performance.

You should be able to run those on low to med settings, since Crysis 2 is much more forgiving than 1 and COD is still using a 4 year old engine.

You won't be gaming on battery.

Let's get this out of the way first, Mac's suck at gaming, period!

They heat the hell up and unless you want to fry it you won't be having any COD marathon's. Plus when You aren't running on AC, throttling will kick in and drop the FPS by half or more. Thus turning your game into a pretty slideshow.
