special effects? What graphics card solution would be powerful enough to make... say a transformers movie?<br><br>
Just curious... and what processor do you think has enough power to get everything they use up and running to ~100% performance so nothing gets bottlenecked.

quadro and tesla. sometimes ATI firepro cards<br><br>
they use xeon processors on boards that have like 2+ sockets. LOTS OF THREADSSSS<br><br>
and lots of ram.<br>
check out 3dboxx. and boston workstation pcs

Not exactly sure which cards, but I know they render at say 5fps then speed it up to the 24fps movie's are recorded at, which allows them to really beef up the visuals

Several Quadros. Inceptions effects were created with nvidia graphic cards.<br><br><br>

it'll be done at 24fps, and then rendered frame by frame

They use rendering servers consisting of NVIDIA Quadro or AMD Firepro cards.

WOW... i thought it would work on just one or two quadros' with a xeon...

really noooo. takes hundreds of computers. they leave them rendering over night and then come back to them in the morning thats how long they take.
