I'm new to this site, as you can tell, and i was wondering what graphics card is better and why. NVIDIA GeForce GT 8600 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 cause I'm new to this kind of stuff and im willing to learn, just looking for the right people to teach me

What card is faster however, is common knowledge which you can obtain by just looking at benchmarks.

240 has more processing power (stream processors) and uses gddr5 instead of gddr3

It's not a card aimed at complete budget sector.

no, just that sometimes they are not the best for comparing two different GPUs, sometimes one will run faster on one game and not the other, and vice versa.

but in this case, you're right, the 240 would ravage the 8600's bum, no lube.
