As title says, what do you consider specialized cooling?

Oh also, First in, in the new sub forum

Cooling for special applications. Useful sub-forum idea for people who have to put computers in weird places. I have a feeling this will just be an extension of the air cooling forum though. Usually special applications translates to "not enough space".

Considering what normally is posted in the old experimental section I think its a poor mix with actual cooling methods. Tecs, phase change, dry ice, ln2 might be lumpable but not with "can I put my computer in a mini fridge"

Submerging with miniral oil was a good idea, adding a radiator to cool the oil was a plus. But I thought yesterday about neverwet product. Can it be used to coat all pcbs and submerge the mobo in water?
I work in a lab and double distilled water (actually its water for injection) is abundant.

as soon as you put anything in the water it is becomes conductive , you need to have a very very clean mobo and component and some of these components don't like to be under liquid , you have to protect them. and the water need to be De-ionized not just distilled , but anyway the particles on your components will mix in the water as soon as you plunge them into it and it will be back to normal water in seconds

I agree 100%, thankfully it was just a mistake and should be fixed soon, one way or another.

The sections were meant to be moved under a new parent forum (similar to the volt mods section), not the threads.

You wont have to. The same, separate forums will all still be here, only under the "Specialized Cooling" banner. Might have to wait till Monday for it to get fixed, but it will get fixed.

Ahhh thx for that, makes me feel better. I have to agree though that Bongs and others count. Anything that isn't traditional Heatsink or Radiator+Pump+Waterblock.

Thank goodness! I don't want to have to wade through tens of threads of people wanting to put their computers in oil or freezers before I get to the good stuff.
