Hi, I have been avidly working my muscles this last year and I have seen good improvement, but I was told that what my routine really needs is more protein and nutrients (etc.), and a little extra energy boost to keep me going through my workout is good too. Is there a product that can give me all that without the use of steroids?

I heard that some kinds of XYIENCE are good, also there was one like No-gain or something like that, that was supposed to be good as well.

Anybody, help me out here?

A couple packs of skittles before a workout works pretty nicely

All you need to do is work out + eat [mainly protein.... w/ other vitamins and minerals]. Any other "supplement" will be somewhat unnatural. Work out + protein = builds muscle

It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Lean muscle mass, or bulk muscle mass. Answer that and I will give you all the advice that I can give.

i have a future brother in law that is also a commited body builder. He suggested to me, and uses himself, this stuff called Blitz cycle, from fizogen. Its a pill supplement that contains creatine and other things... works great. Also he said to just get some good old Whay protien. Whey is the best protien for muscle mass, stay away from egg and soy protien... GNC has some good protien shake mix, it comes in 20/40/and 60 gram per serving. If your not huge and and dont work out a ton, the 20 will be good untill you break about 175 of sheer muscle. 40gram for 180-210body weight, and 60 gram for anything over. But thats only for serious lifting. Also reccomended is some NO-Exploade is good for muscle mass aswell.

Another thing is to just eat healthy, and get plent of sleep. Everyday after work he comes home and sleeps for about 2hrs.. its quite boring during the day at his house for that reason...lol

Wrong... Egg protein is the best bio-available protein there is. Its the baseline which all other proteins are compared to. I sometimes eat 12 eggs for breakfast. Whey is good to. I am the resident bodybuilder here. The only supplements I take are protein shakes, creatine, L-glutamine. Thats basicaly it. Oh and a multi-vitamin twice a day. You have to eat heathy and feed your body. Lots of protein. Eat chicken breast, its the best thing next to eggs. Don't go low-carb, you need carbs for energy. Good slow burning carbs like oatmeal, wild rice, sweet potatoes. With the right diet and a good routine you will achieve results.

creatine is bad for u. It will *** u up big time and a jar of peanut butter is just as good. I know, I hold the freshman bench record at my school (255lbs).

Wrong..... Creatine is naturally occuring in your body. And no long-term studys can prove whether it is good or bad for you. I have used it for 10+ years and never had any bad side effects.

Diet is paramount.

As mentioned before, it has a lot to do with what you eat. Lots of fresh vegtables and fruits, minimal saturated fats. No soda: carbonated drinks are great tasting to some, but they are little more than sugar-water, and they leech cartilage from your bones. That is the last thing you want.

Chromium Picolinate in small dosses helps over the long term. It assists in the urea cycle that is symbiotic with muscle building (I worked as a Purchasing Agent for a nutritional supplement company years ago).

Protein - natural sources are better and more efficiently metabolized.

Water. water. water. Flush that system.

No McyD's, KFC, BK...all that stuff.

Sleep.

Push-Pull routine (Back/Biceps, Chest/Triceps, Legs/Shoulders) 2 days on - 1 day off.

Bulk = Power lifting; high weight lower reps (10)
Definition = Less weight more reps (20)

And if your a complete nutter for this stuff: Negative Failure technique, this requres a spotter that knows what they are doing and is attentive! (Had a friend years ago that was busy watching some bombshell while I was choking on the free bench with 220 on the bar!

P.S. IMHO it is best to keep it natural. Steroids make you and unstable at times - known a couple.

OK umm about those carbs, what if I am a kid that spends 7 hours in school, 2 hours on the computer half hour watchin tv and like 3 hours doing "other" wouldn't I want to limit my carb intake to reduce weight gain? Even though I really don't have to worry about that, because no on in my family gets fat, EVER. No matter what we eat or how much, we never ever get fat, but w/e

EDIT: alot of good info going on here..gotta get these reps a flowin.

Oooh I am starting to like that No-Explode! Sounds like what I need. When I first started working out I saw a huge increase in muscle mass for the first week or so, then it started to sloooww down. No matter how hard I pushed myself my muscles wouldn't get any bigger. I assume that is because of the poor circulation, and that my muscles can't fit much more creatine.

No-Explode Opens up those veins and allows more creatine to flow in. So thats what I need. Right?

Can any one testify to its "good-ness"

I want to try and start eating healthier. My day-to-day diet, isnt exactly protein-rich, so to speak. Plus, I wanna do some lifting and not be scrawny anymore >.<

What would you guys suggest for a very basic diet for a guy who lives off of junk food?
