Unfortunately, while a specific driver version might be the best for one person who has 64-bit 7 with the 8 series card, it doesn't necessarily mean you will have the same result. Therefore - and unfortunately - this means you have to experiment.
So, here's what you should do:
I had to do this myself. I ended up with 190.38 even after many people told me that the 190.62 driver would be my best bet. I went through 4 different driver versions until I discovered that 190.38 had no problems.
Fortunately, this is a really easy and painless process.
So, here's what you should do:
- Install Driver Sweeper.
- Use the Programs and Features control panel to uninstall the NVIDIA display driver.
- Reboot into Safe Mode (hold F8 during the transition between the POST and the loading of Windows).
- Open Driver Sweepr and select "NVIDIA - Display".
- Click "Clean".
- Close Driver Sweeper.
- Reboot normally.
- Install the driver you wish to install.
