I'm just interested to see how many people actually stray from the WASD setup that is usually default with most games.

Here's some of what I use in really any FPS game:

Forward: RMouse Button
Back: A
Left: W
Right: E

Crouch: S
Zoom: F
Prone: Z
Cycle Weapons: D
Use: Q
Fire: LMouse Button

That's pretty much the "main" keys that I can think of.. I really can't even use the WASD setup, I've been using this for years and years, I really like it, although it's quite a bit different.

Really? I've never really played much on a console, I'm not sure I'd do so well... lol, but I know some people that are crazy on one, so I could see that working out really well.

Alt or ~ for voice

I've never been able to find a decent spot for voice on the keyboard... I feel like I have to stop moving, fighting, etc.. just to talk, but I've invested in a logitech g500 mouse and use one of the buttons on it for voice now, just have to move my thumb a bit.. works pretty well.

Only thing I don't like about it, is that I can't reboot my computer with it plugged in, it just won't POST.. all of the mice I've had from Logitech have been like that though, hopefully once I get this new system I'll be able to!

How did you come to use R mouse for forward? Very different indeed!

Just what I've been using since I started playing FPS games, I have an uncle who owns a gaming center and we'd always be up there playing games with my cousins and friends, it was just what my cousins used, and what they introduced me to using when I first started.

I've used WASD controls long enough before to be used to them when I first started BF1942, but I really play much better using these controls.. I feel like I can do more without having to stop something because I don't have enough fingers
, taking the forward off the keyboard opens it up a bit more for me I guess.

Melee: Shift
Sprint/Steady: Alt
Lean L/R: X & C

I also always have my mouse inverted, and my sensitivity is usually pretty high. I have it set to use the 5600DPI setting on the Logitech software, and the slider in the Mouse settings in the control panel is a little over halfway, other than that I usually just tweak the default sensitivity in games a bit to get it where I'm comfortable.

Your boot order is probably getting messed up by USB devices. I'm not sure, but since several logitech mice have internal storage, your computer may be trying to boot from them. Try adjusting your boot order or disabling booting from usb devices.

My board doesn't even support booting from USB.

How do you do in multiplayer? My buddy at first refused to use anything but his 360 controller and constantly got owned until he sucked it up and started using the KB and mouse. Now he won't go back to the controller except for games like GTA and gears of war.

Use my Xbox 360 controller for all 3rd person games (GTA, Batman, Red Faction) and racing games.

Use default mouse and keyboard for all FPS. Only thing I change, if it's not already the default, is crouch as Ctrl.

I have never been able to get used to using any of the default keys. So I went and bought the zboard merc and use that for most everything. Much more intuitive placment for gaming for me. Plus I have big hands and getting my fingers that close together to play gets uncomfortable after awhile. But on the controls it says wasd so you might consider it default.

Other than that I use a 360 controller for racing games or rpg games like oblivion which to me were designed with a controller in mind. fps kbd/ms though.
