I read several articles talking about ram. Saying that high-end ram provides a very slim performance difference to mid-level ram. What about it is undesirable or just run of the mill? What should I look for in ram that this doesn't have. I want to have a good machine, but I dont want to spend WAY more than I need to for my uses, which are playing games.

You are also considering the Deluxe version of the P6T, which won't improve your performance at all. You could also put the money in a better memory kit and have a slight performance increase
But I must say, 106 CAD isn't bad at all when you look at the current memory module prices. So it would be good bang for buck.
The only reason I am considering the deluxe is because I'm trying to find a great deal on ebay, and I'm not really looking for a specific motherboard. I'm trying to find the cheapest good performing x58. Im stearing clear of the SE because it doesn't support SLI however. I may have found a sick deal on a DFI LP UT X58-T3eH8 though !
