I need a material to use as a buffer between the glass & the desk and a also act as a seal around the lip.

I'm using some (I think) closed foam strips I found at home depots window & door section and while it holds its shape, it's still too thick at almost a 1/2"

I'm looking for something maybe 1/8" - 1/4" & 1.5" wide that will seal and not totally flatten out/smoosh under the weight of the glass.

Here's what I'm using now, it's great as far as holding it's shape & the weight of the glass, but it's just way too thick, but nice & wide:

Good advice, buy my desk is all aluminum and I definitely want to seal it off to prevent as much dust getting into my system as I can.
