The hx1000 is outdated and overpriced. For your system, a good 850w is all you need. Heck, I bet you could even run it off a 750w.

Go for the corsair 850hx.

850 would be cutting it close to its max, since the 480s will need at least 250 watts, that'
s if they are run stock speeds. Overclocked i7 could use up to 200 watts, or more, depending on the overclock. I would go for nothing less than 1000 watts. Look at the Enermax 1050 or 1250, Silverstone 1200 or even 1000.

Outdated? How so? It'd still say it's an excellent PSU

OT: I wouldn't touch a 1000+W PSU lower than $190

A GOOD 1000w will do the job just right with a bit of overclocking. If you want to overclock a lot and want a water cooling setup, go for a 1200w. Corsair hx1000w is a great psu for you. Never get an xion. They are crap. Like one post said, don't buy a psu under $200. You want to have a quality psu. Another psu I'll recomend is the antec 1000w. If you want more upgradability, go for an antec 1200w or a corsair ax1200w.

I love my antec TPQ 1200w OC edition. I don't know if you can get the OC edition where you are, but the normal non OC edition is pretty much the same thing, though there are less built in cords for your PCI cards, and there aren't any adjustment knobs on it.

So does that make my PSU lower quality because I got it for $45?

Or for a rig with SLI 480's and a 1000w PSU, the Tuniq Ripper 1000w is $110 shipped and it is better than a lot of PSU's that are $200+.
