id shoot for the lg. i have a 17 inch lg from 5 yrs ago, and the thing still works like on day one

asus i had however no luck with sold the one monitor i had after the first rma (1 month after purchase)

asus is a good screen for the money you pay, everbody gets a bad one sometimes even lgs
i love my asus watched hellboy II last night on it, it was very nice and games rock on it

The LG is way too overpriced for what your getting i think, go with the asus that will work great for what your useing it for
