I have a Dell vostro 1400 that has been sitting around for a few months with a busted screen. At first the screen would work on and off and now its just dead. I dont know the exact problem with it but I was wondering what some of your guy's suggestions would be. Should I get a parts laptop that has a good screen etc but has a bad mobo or hdd and just swap parts so I have one working laptop or what?
Either would do, whatevers cheaper really if you can find the parts, or you could sell it for parts or connect an external monitor and use it?.
I forgot to mention, I tried hooking it up to an external monitor and it didnt work someone told me I have to change some settings on the laptop which I can not do since the screen doesnt work.
pressing the function key and one of the F-keys will switch the input. It should have a picture of a screen, or say CRT/LCD or something of the sort on it.
