What should I do?

Wich would I get a better result from? Overclock CPU and updrade RAM to PC3200 or a new video card? Here is my rig:

AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+
768 mgs of PC2700
GeForce 4 TI4200 128 mg + 4x AGP
2 - 40 gig HDD
1 DVD Burner
1 DVD-ROM Drive
350 watt p/s
Gigabyte GA7-VAX Motherboard

I love to play games and enjoy great graphics. I have to play DOOM 3 on a crappy setting in order to play.

It's a close call, what's your budget? i'd say start w/ the gfx card. I'm pretty sure you can get a relatively inexpensive card that'll destroy your present card.

Would There be that much of an improvement if I went to say a FX5200..8x AGP and 128 mgs ?

i made the jump from geforce3 64mb to my fx5600 256mb and noticed a huge difference. so yours might not be as noticable but for the price of around $50 you really can't complain. I'd say it's worth it but at the same time if you could spend a little more for a slightly higher end card then go for it.

I would only upgrade if the mobo supports agp 8x and if it does then I'd go futureproof and get a better card than that (I mean 6600GT of course

). I know, it's out of budget but saving is worth it

I will overclock ur CPU to 3200+ and put a new graphic card, 9600XT, 5900XT or 6800GT. ur memory should run as 400Mhz, Watch out ur PSu, if u got a lot of fan in ur case then use a 450Watts +
