I know a 5850 is better. I whant to know is it worth it for me to get it even though i am not going to be gaming, but well play a few game(crysis 2), or should i go for 5770. I will be mainly watching movies Hd with my samsung led full hd 1080p. I heard if you whant to watch full 1920x1080p it's better to get the 5850 card is it true.

The 5770 are 189.99 and the 5850 are 310 99 do you think its worth coughing up extra 140 for the 5850. Thanks for the help in advance + rep.

Movie watching will be exactly the same on both cards, but for gaming, especially at high resolutions with games like Crysis 2, the HD5850 is going to be the much, much better card, so you should get that, IMO.

The 5770 will play 1080P without any problems, i don't know where you heard of the nonsense about the 5850 is better than the 5770 in playing 1080P. I think you should go with the 5850 since you will be playing Crysis 2.

You could get the Sapphire v1 cards for $160 new. This way you can crossfire those for only $320($10 more then a 5850) and get 5870 performance. Why not do that?

The 5770 is more than enough for HD playback. If you stick to watching movies and some light gaming at 1920x1080 the 5770 should be fine. However, if you plan on playing some graphically intensive games, such as Crysis 2, at that resolution then I would recommend the 5850.

5770 will be fine, 5850 is kind of overkill for anything right now unless you're somehow offended by playing a new game on "high" settings instead of "omgultramaxedout"

The 5770 will do the trick for you, of course the 5850 is better, but it also costs a bit more. I cant say that I love my 5770's becayse they like to cause problems, like freezing in games, gray screens BSOD etc etc. But all of these things have been fixed by driver updates. The cards have been out long enough that I think the issues will be solved much more quickly. Also in orer to play a lot of the new games that require dx11 you will need a 5000 series card from ATI. Atleast until Nvidia releases something. The cards are worth it in my opinion considering that Nvidia has yet to release the fermi unicorn, and the cards are certainly priced right from ATI. I have two 5770's in CF and they work very well in crysis and all games I am able to run full advanced/enthusiast settings. Again my only pet peave about these cards are their lack of driver updates and constanct issues with freezing and GSOD's.

good Luck mate!

Haha, had this dilemma a while back. I decided the 5850 because it was what i needed to play my games on max. You can always wait for the Fermis to come out by the end of this month I think and hopefully price drops will come our way. Then again if your in dire need of a new video card go for 5770. Once you get the money to get a second one they will scale very nicely and match up to a 5870.

And yes it is worth paying the extra money for 5850, but if you need that money for other things I'd advise you to wait before buying.
