2 4850's in crossfire would be the best bet... Or a 4850x2
budget and performance: 4830 xfire

for future expandability: 1gb 4870

The 4830s will save me cash. Which I NEED.

Ok for $20.00 more there are HIS 4850s. Is that worth the extra $?

What about 4850x2? possible quadfire in the future...
I doubt I need quad fire. But its a possibility I guess.
Price for 2x 4830 and 4870 is about the same, I would go for a 4870 for now.
4870 for sure.
the question now is which one?
Depending on the budget and air flow of the case, this one looks prety good.
Yea HD4830 CF will be more hassle than a nice HD4870 1GB. HOwver it may perform better. BUt imo just get the HD4870.

Here is the version i would get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125256

Cheapest price
unless every game you play supports crossfire/sli I'd simply stick with the single 4870... and when more games/apps support Crossfire... you'll be ready to go and just buy another 4870

plus from what I can gather..
1x 4870 will be less power consumption than 2x 4850/4830...

dual gpus doesn't always seem to pay off unless you know its gonna get used..

I would say go for it.

But if you can afford a 4870 1Gb, then get that one, and then maybe later get a 4850 or another 4870
